What Is Jeuveau?
An FDA approved correction for glabella frown lines, Jeuveau is very similar to Botox. This injection contains roughly 900 Kilo Dalton, purified Botulinum toxin type A, which is a highly effective neuromodulator and the molecules are virtually identical to Botox. This FDA approved aesthetic injection can also improve temporary movement in the appearance of frown lines between our eyebrows, only in adult patients. Dr. Jeffrey T. Steitz and his humble staff at the St. Louis Facial Plastic Surgery Center, provide quality treatment and care for our patients.
How Jeuveau Works
Since Jeuveau is essentially a botulinum toxin, it works almost the exact same way Botox does. It is first injected into the muscle, then it adheres to nerve receptors where the patient was injected.
Are These Injections Painful?
In general, the injections are very well tolerated. We use a very small 30g needle for injections to minimize discomfort and use ice to dull the sensation of the needle.
Jeuveau Versus’ Botox
Both Jeuveau and Botox are neuromodulators which in turn makes them both very similar. They both come from the same bacteria and both improve the lines and creases on your face.
If I Have Had Botox Before, Can I Still Receive Jeuveau Injections?

So choosing Botox or Jeuveau is a personal choice based on your goals, opinions and the administering clinician’s experience or preference.
Are There Side Effects With Jeuveau?
Within any neuromodulator, there are always side effects. Fortunately, these side effects and symptoms are extremely rare and almost always never happened. If some of these symptoms arise, we will take the necessary steps to correct them.
